My personal assistant, his wife and I took a road trip to visit my p.a.’s father out in the country. He was hosting a get together to make apple butter (a fall tradition). Lots of people were expected, so Nash and Scruff stayed home. Too many people freak them out.
After hellos and “What a cute dog!” and “What kind of dog IS that?!” I got to go off leash in the woods.
It was very exciting, though I did not see any bears or elephants as I had hoped. I walked ahead of everyone, always on the alert for danger.
At the top of the hill we came to a shed with a tractor in it! I asked if I could sit in the driver’s seat and my p.a. said ok but under no circumstances was I to try to start it up.
The view from the seat was spectacular!
I imagined using the tractor to herd sheep, mow, and plow all at the same time. How awesome would that be?!
After fantasy tractor time, I ran wild, smelling all the smells the country had to offer. I think I came across an anteater who had passed by just hours before. After finding some really disgusting wild animal crud to roll in (Score!), I was ready to go back down the hill to the party. I got lots of treats; the potato chips and hunks of donuts were my favorites.
So it was a great day. When I got home, Nash and Scruff smelled me all over, as if to say, “Where have YOU been!” I’d been up country, having a blast!

Casper loves to sit in the tractor and survey his domain. He has a great time going for rides on it.
Too bad they cut off your thumbs or you could have hot wired it and done donuts on the yawn!

Hi Checkers, I was watching the dog show and I saw a CWC that looked almost identical to you! You could have been a show dog.

I get that comment all the time! “What a cute dog!” Not sure what to think though. I don’t have a dog and am usually alone when this is said…..
