This last Thursday, my personal assistant came home from work and went to check on Lulu, his daughter’s guinea pig. As some of you know, she was pregnant.
He looked under her shoebox house and found this:
Piglets! She must have just had her babies, as they were still wet. Guinea pigs, unlike most rodents, give birth to babies with all their hair and eyes open, ready to go!
They were already walking around, though a little unsteadily.
.
Here’s mom and the kids today, two days after birth:

.
Are they cute or what?!
I just wish I could play with them! I’m only allowed to watch. I wonder if I was like those piggies when I was born?

these piglets are very cute.
will you keep them all?

Hi Checkers,
You were very small when you were born. Most people say that Cardigan puppies look like hamsters with tails.
Hopefully you will play nice with them and not view them as a tasty treat.

Hmmm, I am not quite sure what I think. They are cute, I kinda like their colors. They might be fun to bat at with my paws (I have no claws, of course) fun!

They look YUMMY! Ok, they look SCARY! I had ENOUGH of piggies and scary animals yesterday at the fair! A goat tried to bite me!
My girl wants one of your piggie babies.
Try and teach them to bark! And fetch. And roll over. And sit. And stay.
Sniff, Sniff! BINGO

Very cute, Checkers..!
So…When is your personal assistant going to create rigs so that the piglets can ride you like the elephant things in Lord of the Rings.

O-o-o-o-ohhh, da liddow scoobidy-woobidies! I never knew, either, that they were born fully dressed.
Checkers, I agree with Daddy Glacier. My impression is that Cardis go through a newborn hamster stage and a week-or-so-old guinea pig stage before reaching a bone-a fido puppy look.

can piggies do agility? How many piggies would it take for the teeter to go down? Imagine how low we’d have to set the jump bars! And the tire??? Forget it! They’d probably go UNDER the table instead of on the table. And how do you know if a guinea is sitting??? It’s hard enough sometimes to tell with a corgi!

I like how they color-coordinate with Checkers’ fur.
You should submit those pics to Cute Overload.

Adorable GWEEEEEEPERS!
I’ve never personally owned a GP (Just fostered), but have always loved them, esp the long haired ones (I own Angora buns, and spin yarns). I’m not sure if I could handle living with the gweeping for long though, as visiting friends with GPs, I can only take so much LOL

Guinea Pig Babies MYST be AWFULLY hard to take care of. No Checker’s Blogs for while. How sad. Just one more reason not to get a guinea piggie… too much time consuming.
