Chickens

I was thinking about chickens this morning. In particular, sayings and such involving chickens. Like:

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side.

Don’t count your chickens before they’ve hatched.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

What if we replaced “chicken” with “cardigan welsh corgi” in these sayings? What would they sound like?

Why did the cardigan welsh corgi cross the road? He didn’t. He had all the kibble he needed on his side.

Don’t waste time counting your cardigan welsh corgis before you have let them out in the morning. They’ve got to go!

Which came first, the cardigan welsh corgi or the personal assistant?

  1. great post because…you look great and you used an egg as a prop!

is he going to open that for you???

  2. That egg would fry on our porch this summer.

  3. Thanks, goodbear. I really had my thinking cap on today!

  4. Dogs are cuter and infinately smarter than chickens. The only difference is the eggs. Eat it! Go on, you know you want to!

  5. I like the cardigan welsh corgi sayings, they’re smart…especially the ‘don’t waste time counting cardigan welsh corgis…’ that’s particularly smart and appropriate for Jack Russell’s as well!

  6. If you check the Old Church Slavonic version of these proverbs, you’ll find that the second one is more closely translated as, “Don’t waste time trying to count your Cardigan Welsh Corgis until after they’ve frapped.” A different metaphor, but carrying the same warning against futile projects.
